The PS4 for Kids program. It is a short-term counselling service for children aged 0-12 years who are at risk of developing at mental health disorder or have a diagnosed condition. The psychologist from the program works with the child and family to provide intervention to help children with a range of mental health and behavioural concerns. It is funded by the Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network, and is aimed at low income families (although not necessarily HCC holders), so is no cost to families.
We currently have many appointments available and are keen to accept new referrals.
Referrals can be completed by the child’s regular GP who will can access the forms through the Primary Health Network Website
In addition to the child’s GP, psychiatrist or Paediatrician’s, a provisional referral can be made by Maternal and Child Health nurses, Pre-school Centre directors, pre-school field officers, childcare Centre directors, school nurses and school principals.
