Uniting Wesley, alongside the Safe Futures Foundation, EACH and the Australian Childhood Foundation, provide a range of therapeutic responses to support women and children who have experienced family violence.
This is one of 26 Family Violence Therapeutic Intervention Demonstration projects funded across Victoria as a direct result of the recent Royal Commission. We offer a range of services covering:
• Therapeutic assessment and planning • Enhanced therapeutic case management for children • Group work programs • Counselling for women and children
Who we can support Our service supports women and children living in the eastern metropolitan region, who have experienced family violence and would benefit from a therapeutic response. Our programs connect women and children to a variety of opportunities and experiences to aid recovery. We support families to experience a safe, caring home environment and to enjoy healthy, rewarding relationships.
Providing the right support Potential participants are provided with therapeutic assessment and planning, including referral to counselling and/or to therapeutic case management for children where appropriate. Where identified needs indicate the participant would benefit from group programs, they will be referred to the most appropriate groups. Group programs:
